Districts formed to help support sport, culture and recreation activity throughout the province

As of February 2009, the province’s sport, culture and recreation delivery system is pleased to announce that all nine Sport, Culture and Recreation Districts have been established in Saskatchewan. Sport, Culture and Recreation Districts were created by amalgamating regional recreation associations and sport zone councils into new organizations that were given the mandate to focus on facilitating community development and coordinating District networks with the aim of enhancing access to sport, culture and recreation programs and services in the province.
